One Human Family 18 January, 2010
Haiti has reminded me that we are one human family. Many of us discuss the ups and downs of our technological age. Haiti is a glowing example of the miracle of our technology. We are spreading the message of need and hope to every space on our globe. We are amassing vast amounts of aid in the form of human and money resources for this devastation. We are also reminded that those of us who are having business challenges with this economy must put our lives in perspective. It also reaffirms to me that as flawed as we can be as human beings, are magnificent "imago dei," in the image of God. As I watch people dig people out of ruins tirelessly, doctors and medical personel put their own lives at risk to save the lives of others, I am humbled by our Divine connection. We used to be separated by borders but that illusion is dissolving. We are one human family.
