Listening to your heartbeat is meditation; watching the sunrise is meditation. The word meditation comes from two Latin words: meditari (to dwell upon) and mederi (to heal).

Meditation describes a state of consciousness–when the mind is free of chaotic thoughts and all the activity of the mind is reduced to one. With regular meditation practice, the energy of the mind and body can be unshackled and the quality of awareness can be expanded.
